We are using all of registry reviews and have a computer workstation where students can practice. Graduates also come back to practice before taking exams. We are having some great successes!

I am really excited about the CD-ROM exams—an excellent teaching tool.

Brandi Merrill, BS, RT(R), RDMS, RVT, Program Director, Baptist Medical Center South, School of Diagnostic Ultrasound, Montgomery, Alabama
I want to commend you on your astounding selection of ultrasound material. I placed a rather large order for my program a few months ago and have been very pleased.

Samuel Maynard, RT(R), RDMS, RDCS, Clinical Instructor, Diagnostic Sonography Education, United Hospital Center, Clarksburg, West Virginia
Our sonography students have enjoyed the benefits of your educational CD-ROM programs, particularly the test and learn system for abdomen, ob/gyn, physics, and vascular. The information that is reinforced has expedited their learning curve and enhanced their perspective and confidence in ultrasound board exam preparation.. The Davies programs have been instrumental in student retention and recall in all areas.

Doug Jones, BA, RDMS, RDCS, RVT, RCT, Program Director, Dept. of Allied Health, Washburn University
Boy, that was fast. It's nice to deal with a company that's responsive. Believe me, plenty aren't. Keep up the good work.

Becky Stevens, BS, RDMS, RT(R)(M), Bowling Green Technical Community College
My students use the Davies CD-ROM Mock Exams for sonography. The students have expressed that the test questions give a good overall review. I feel it is very beneficial for students to evaluate themselves utilizing non-program material.

Best and closest to how the real exam is. I used this everyday to prepare, and . . . I passed! This is the best way to prepare for speed and orientation. The styles and template were similar to the real exam. If an applicant has this CD, they will have a good idea what the real exam will be like; there will be no surprise when they sit for the exam—it covers all subjects.

Danny Woodring, RDMS, RDCS, RVT
I am a long-time customer and love the new website! It’s nice to be able to see everything online and order quickly. This is ironic, though, because your telephone staff are so incredible. I once had a Davies employee read through the catalog aloud for me as I drove a long distance to work. She read until I heard what I wanted and was ready to order; she never once tried to rush me!
On another occasion, I called for permission to use some copyrighted material in a protocol. The person I was talking to said, "I am not sure, let me get Mr. Davies for you." I was nervous. Sure enough, Mike Davies got on the line and very kindly helped me.
I have had no poor experiences with Davies Publishing in 15 years of purchasing; I cannot say that about any other business I have had experiences with.
Thanks again for the exceptional products and service over the years. I am blown away by how responsive and amiable Davies Publishing is. I tell all the sonographers I know.

Purpose—The purpose of presenting the Ob/Gyn Sonography study material in this format is to provide an interactive, flexible, and easy to use learning environment. Learners can easily review test preparation and exam taking strategies and access Ob/Gyn sonography study materials three ways. The learn mode and the test mode allow users to study more effectively by enabling them to create individualized testing environments that can replicate the question mix of actual exams. Users can then score their exams by using the CD-ROM’s results analysis option. The product does a nice job of presenting the material and provides a valuable tool for preparing for the sonography exam.
Features—The mock exam covers all content areas tested by the actual exam. The extensive sonography image library allows users to review and enlarge over 150 ultrasound images while answering related Ob/Gyn study questions. The product also provides QuickTime files for use when studying. The software is easy to install and the learning interface is clear, easy to use, and has a useful help section. The learning interface can also be easily enlarged to increase the fonts and pages for readability. The only area that could be improved is in the answers to the study and test questions. When a user selects the wrong answer, the correct answer is provided with supporting evidence. Users are not, however, provided with information as to why their choice was incorrect.
Assessment—This is an easy to use comprehensive e-learning environment for those studying for American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers Exam. The mock exam provides many practice questions with detailed answers for all content areas covered by the real exam. The interactive and flexible e-learning environment enhances the pedagogic value of the medical content provided.

Purpose—It is formatted to mimic the ultrasound boards. It allows people to become more confident to take the boards by becoming familiar with the exam format. In the learn mode, it is extremely helpful to get the correct answer and explanation immediately. In the test mode, it is helpful to learn the areas of deficiency. This product meets its objectives in an easy to use format.
Features—This is a very complete review of ultrasound physics with excellent images of the principles. It is easy to install and navigate with useful hyperlinks. I particularly found the instant feedback and explanation in the learn mode to be most helpful. The test mode provides a very useful evaluation of strengths and weaknesses to assist in studying. Very complete coverage of necessary knowledge!
Assessment—I found this CD-ROM to be an excellent and easy to follow study guide. It is a great format to prepare for the boards and fun to use.

Purpose—The purpose of this CD-ROM is to provide the content to teach yourself the material covered on the Vascular Technology Specialty Exam, test yourself on the material with Registry-like questions that are delivered electronically (similar to the actual exam), and through analysis of the results, determine how prepared you are to take the actual examination. This product meets these objectives well and is a welcome addition to the existing Davies library of preparatory material.
Features—The CD-ROM is well laid out. It is divided into three different sections: Learn Mode, Test Mode, and Results Analysis. In the Learn Mode, questions can be reviewed by the main topics of the registry exam or questions can be reviewed from the Image Library. The images are of very good quality and simulate accurately what the images on the real exam are like. In the Learn Mode, the software provides several different options, like deciding how many questions in each category one would like to review during any particular session. In the Learn Mode, after a question is answered, the software immediately reveals and explains the correct answer. In the Test Mode, the questions are displayed similar to the actual Registry examination and the software has a built-in timer allowing for one minute per question, in essence training one to progress through the exam in a timely manner. In the Results Analysis mode, the test performance is analyzed rigorously. The software defines areas of strengths and weaknesses, based on the subject areas covered by the Registry examination. And all questions are cross-referenced to the print version of the Davies review book. The software was simple to install and the menu choices are self-explanatory. The results of the testing can be copied to other software or printed, but the software cannot save them. This CD-ROM also provides 15 hours of continuing medical education credit.
