Reviewers' Comments

For the third edition of their text, Rumwell (technical/QA director, Oregon Health Sciences Hospital/Providence Health Systems Vascular Laboratory) and McPharlin (vascular surgery clinic and vascular laboratory, Henry Ford Hospital) have added 40 new color and b&w images that provide examples of normality, abnormality, and hemodynamics as they relate to duplex and color flow studies, plus more case studies and angiograms. The book can serve as a text for those in training, a reference guide for practicing technologists and sonographers, and a resource for interpreting physicians. It will also aid students in preparing for the national registry examination in vascular technology.—Book News, Inc.

The standard has been raised. Completely revised and updated, significantly expanded, and better than ever, the new edition of this popular book explains and illustrates what you need to know to pass the Vascular Technology and Physicians' Vascular Interpretation exams—topic by topic, in one volume, by leading technologists who themselves have taken, passed, and helped others prepare for and pass their RVT exams. Based on the registry’s exam outline, it includes new illustrations, duplex and color flow images, Doppler waveforms, photo-documented physiologic exam techniques, angiograms, new self-assessment exercises, glossaries, and integral CME application. Particularly useful in combination with Vascular Technology Review, Vascular Physics Review, and ScoreCards for Vascular Technology. Thorough coverage of physical principles (including Doppler), indications, and interpretation makes this book an excellent review for physicians taking the PVI exam.
12 hours SDMS-approved CME! 314 illustrations (23 in color). 442 pp.
