A. Thecoma

Wrong.

Explanation

Theca-lutein cysts increase in size as a result of the elevated levels of circulating hCG in the bloodstream. This systemic circulation causes both of the ovaries to enlarge, forming multiloculated cysts that may hemorrhage, torse, or even rupture. The levels of hCG gradually begin to decrease when the trophoblastic tissue is evacuated from the uterus, and the theca-lutein cysts regress over to 2 - 4 months.

Human Chorionic Gonadotropin

by
Marie De Lange, RT, RDMS, RDCS
Glenn A. Rouse, MD

1. Human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) is a hormone produced by the placenta to maintain the corpus luteum until the placenta is well established.

2. Normally, an hCG level of less than 5 mIU per ml indicates the absence of pregnancy.

3. In many laboratories, 20 mIU is considered a level to indicate pregnancy. This level should be reached by approximately the third menstrual week, or approximately one week before the first period is missed.

4. In the early part of pregnancy, the hCG level should double every 2 to 3 days. A maximum is reached at between 9 and 12 weeks, and then the hCG gradually falls through the rest of pregnancy

5. At term the human chorionic gonadotropin level is still between 3 and 170,000 mIU/ml.

Software Design
“There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies. The first method is far more difficult.”
